Telecommunications Management Network. An International Telecommunication Union model for network management in advanced networks such as synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH) and Groupe Speciale Mobile (GSM). TMN defines management functions with standard interfaces using a management network separate from the transmission network; and standard protocols such as Common Management Information Protocol (CMIP).
