Handheld Computing Devices
Handheld computers are mobile (usually pocket-sized) computing devices, which typically contain a central processing unit (CPU), memory, and a display screen. The display screen may have touch input capability, or the handhed device may have a miniature keyboard. Some handheld devices are referred to as personal digital assistants (PDAs). PDA functionality also can be found on cellphones and other handheld devices. Handheld computing devices are most often used in environments where carrying a full computer is not practical.
So-called enterprise digital assistants can further extend the functionality of handheld computers for government offices by offering integrated data capture devices like Bar Code, RFID and Smart card readers.
